Garden drainage can be a major concern for households and businesses in Northern Ireland as it can render areas of grass unusable and unsightly.  As we are from a farming background we have a wealth of knowledge and experience in all types of drainage work.

Improving your landscape soil and layout can often alleviate minor or moderate garden drainage problems.  If your soil is compacted or has high clay content, we can put in place a herringbone drainage system.  This has one or two main drains with many sub drains running into them. This allows the main drain to carry the excess water away from the affected area into either an existing field drain or a large reservoir (French pit). The drains will have a perforated drainage pipe at the bottom and covered with aggregate, this will then have a soil and grass cover so as to totally conceal it. This allows the water to travel easily down into the pipe, helping drainage in even the wettest of gardens.
